Our Gardens will not be open to the public for 2007
Gardens North is located on a private, eight acre site,
25km south of
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Six acres have been developed into display gardens,
which are open to the public the third weekend of each month (May-August).
In addition, we offer booked tours or can arrange an appointment with
you outside of the normal open garden weekends.
Our gardens are intended as a testament to growing plants from seed
and are intensively planted with an eclectic selection of plants from
around
the world, most in distinct environments.
Three ponds interconnect with canals, streams and waterfalls. There
are rock and crevice gardens with alpine buns and troughs. A large
woodland garden begins on the fringes of a succulent bed filled with sempervivum.
Sand beds overflow with hardy cacti, and xeric plants. There are large
plantings of ornamental grasses, traditional mixed borders and many vertical
accents for unusual climbers.
A large variety of unusual plants and Gardens North seed and products
are available for sale during your visit as well as troughs, hypertufa
birdbaths and natural stone waterfalls.
