TRIOSTEUM

TRIOSTEUM aurantiacum (Moist Packed)Summer3526
Wild Coffee,Orange-Fruited Horse Gentian120cm  Zone: 4
Native to rocky areas and rich woods of eastern North America. Large, opposite, hairy leaves. Inconspicuous red flowers form in the leaf axils in mid spring, followed by charming fruit, which cannot be likened to anything but miniature orange-yellow lemons. Wild collected in Ontario. Limited this season.
Germination Instructions: Cold treatment required.

TRIOSTEUM pinnatifidum (Moist Packed) New Summer3525
40cm  Zone: 3-4
A rare herbaceous member of the Honeysuckle family almost never seen in cultivation. I quote from the Heronswood catalogue.... "this plant is beyond remarkable, and mindboggling to me that it has not yet been further grown and known. Deeply lobed, felted leaves, reminiscent of Hydrangea quercifolia, and small greenish flowers followed by large white fruit with a soft blush of rosy pink, on herbaceous stems to 18", making large, robust plants over time. Partial shade and any soil."
Germination Instructions: Seed is moist packed. Cold treatment required on receipt.
