Searching Genus for Solidago

SOLIDAGO(GOLDENROD)Family: COMPOSITAE
A genus of primarily North American natives with (usually) yellow flowers in summer and fall. Don't be afraid to grow goldenrods because you're worried about fall "hay fever". Although they were once thought to be the source of this allergy, we now know that goldenrods are insect-pollinated and that it is the tiny, insignificant, wind-pollinated flowers of the ragweed (Ambrosia spp.) that are the real culprits.

SOLIDAGO sempervirens New Summer to Fall3745
Seaside Goldenrod60-90cm
Native from Quebec east through the maritimes, growing on coastal dunes, salt marshes, and the banks of estuaries. Over fleshy, succulent foliage, panicles of yellow flowers. Grow in a dry, sunny spot for the most compact plants.
Germination Instructions: Easy, warm germinator.
