Three-Toothed Cinquefoil5cm  Zone: 2
(Potentilla tridentata) This is a boreal-montane species that ranges from Greenland across Canada and southward down the Appalachian Shield, growing on rocky ledges and alpine peaks, usually in acidic soil. A very hardy, beautiful, low, mat-forming shrubby ground-cover for dry, soil with loose clusters of white flowers over leathery, glossy, evergreen leaves, turning wine-red in autumn. These have two notches in the tips that form three rounded teeth, accounting for its common name. Seed wild collected in Ontario.
