Searching Genus for STACHYS

STACHYS(BETONY)Family: LABIATAE
Over 300 species of herbaceous perennials and subshrubs widely distributed, but few cultivated in gardens. A few species are widely grown for their foliage and hooded flowers in whorls or spikes. For well-drained soil in sun or part shade.

STACHYS byzantina (lanata)Summer3360
Lamb's Ears45cm  Zone: 3
Forms a thick mat of densely-white, woolly leaves, which are velvety to the touch. The pink or purple flower spikes are insignificant and often removed so as not to detract from the foliage. This is one of the best edging plants for its softening influence; let it sprawl at will.
