A large genus of over 500 plants with keeled flowers in terminal racemes.

POLYGALA paucifolia New Spring2781
Gaywings, Fringed Polygala7-15cm  Zone: 3
One of our most breathtakingly beautiful native woodland wildflowers usually growing in coniferous forests. The deep-pink to purple, orchid-like blooms have two flaring wings, which are actually lateral sepals. The true petals are fused to form a tube, with the lower one tipped with a brushy fringe. The leaves are evergreen and egg shaped. A gem! Seed wild collected in the Ozarks. Only a few packs.

Everything about this beautiful plant is challenging: not easy to establish in cultivation; difficult to find in the wild; a pain to collect and clean the seed. If you manage to get it established; cherish it!!!!
Germination Instructions: Cold treatment required.
