POLEMONIUM
(JACOB'S LADDER)
Family: POLEMONIACEAE
About 30 species of annual and perennial plants native to North and South America, Europe and Asia. Jacob’s Ladder derives its name from the arrangement of its leaves; like rungs of a ladder in pairs. Flowers in blue, pink, white or yellow are loosely clustered and bloom over a long period. The finely-divided foliage is a pleasant addition to the garden. Part shade in cool, moist conditions.
