LINDERA

LINDERA benzoin (Moist Packed) New Early Spring2160
Northern Spicebush1.8-3m  Zone: 4
Native to eastern North America growing in moist spots in bottomlands, woods, ravines, valleys and along streams and at its northern limit in southern Ontario. A broad, rounded multi-stemmed shrub covered with clusters of small, fragrant yellow flowers in early spring, before the leaves emerge. The wonderfully aromatic light-green leaves turn a vivid deep yellow-gold in autumn. Birds feed on the small, brilliant red fruits formed on female plants.
Germination Instructions: Seed has been moist packed to preserve viability. Cold treatment required.
