Searching Genus for Iris
A large genus of about 300 species widely distributed throughout the northern hemisphere, inhabiting a broad range of environments from boggy swamps to dry meadows.
A variable iris native from Spain to Russia and throughout the Caucasus. Dark-green, erect grassy foliage in dense clumps. The violet-purple blooms are scented like plums and are lovely as cut flowers. The flowers in bloom encircle the foliage at about half-height, a most elegant habit.
Cold treatment required.

IRIS setosa ssp. canadensis
Dwarf Beach Head Iris
Native to coastal areas of north eastern North America. This dwarf form has beautiful lavender blue flowers, the falls with a basal white spot.

Elegant clumps of foliage, attractive throughout the season and deep blue flowers bloom atop hollow, sparsely branched stems. A fine border plants; combining well with other perennials and shrubs. As long as their moisture requirements are met, they will bloom in a wide range of conditions. Tough, reliable plants and generally free of pests and diseases.
