A genus of 100 carnivorous plants with a cosmopolitan distribution.

DROSERA rotundifolia New Summer1383
Round-Leaved Sundew15cm  Zone: 3
A small, insectivorous plant with a wide distribution. Most often grows in bogs, but also swamps, rotting logs, mossy crevices in rocks, or damp sand along stream, lake, or pond margins. Leaves are in a basal rosette, lying flat on ground; the upper surface covered with reddish, glandular hairs tipped with a sticky, secretion resembling a dewdrop that traps insects, hence its name. Small, white to pinkish flowers in a one-sided raceme, only opening in sunshine. For a wet, organic, acid soil low in nutriets. Seed wild collected in Ontario.
Germination Instructions: Cold treatment required.
