A genus of 70 mostly deciduous trees or shrubs, with inconspicuous flowers and round fruits in the fall.

Chinese Hackberry is a spreading, deciduous tree native to eastern China, Korea and Japan where it reaches heights of around 12m in woodland areas. Has a very fine twig structure which carries glossy, blunt-toothed, dark green leaves to 8cm long. Small green flowers are borne in spring followed by small, sweet, edible fruit which are dark-orange ripening to red-brown, very attractive to wildlife. Growth rate is fast. This is a tough, adaptive small landscape tree.
Germination Instructions: Cold treatment required.
