Native to rich, rocky woods in eastern North America. Grown for its blue seeds and handsome foliage, which resembles Meadowrue (Thalictrum). Good companion for Virginia Bluebells since the foliage fills in as the bluebell foliage turns yellow. For light to heavy shade in humus, woodland soil. Seed wild collected in Ohio.
Germination Instructions: Cold treatment required.
