Genus of 20 species native to North America and east Asia. Handsome foliage and star-shaped blue flowers. Prefers light shade but will tolerate full sun if the soil is moist.

This native of the Ozark mountains is considered one of the best of the genus. It sports narrow, foliage that colours a beautiful yellow in the fall. Sky blue flowers in spring. We believe that this collection may contain some seed of A. tabernaemontana var. salicifolia (which also has very narrow foliage). This will have wider foliage that A. hubrectii.
